Alpha. How to tame a wolf.
Tired of blockbusters and comics? Here you have the spiritual story of friendship between man and the wolf.
It can be said: a film about how thousands of years ago people tamed the wolf.
This story is about people who lived about 20,000 years ago in the territory of modern Europe. It was the ice age, food was stored for many months. While hunting for buffaloes, the son of chief Keda (Cody Smith-McPhee), confronted with a buffalo, is seriously injured and almost dies. At least he died in the eyes of the tribe and was left in distant lands. But as we understand, he cannot die, otherwise what will the film be about :)
And the film will be about how Keda will survive on his own, help a new four-legged friend to survive and return to his native place.
For me, this film is interesting, first of all, how to show a long history if there is only one person in the frame. Of course there are incredible landscapes and animals around, but the actor is still the same. He will have to talk with himself or with a wolf. And in principle, I believe that the film was a success. It is quite versatile. Both children and adults will understand him in many countries. I should note that there are some bloody scenes in the film, but at the same time they are masterly hidden so that the children can see this picture.
Of the minuses, I note a couple of points. The faces, hands, clothes and shoes of the heroes are too good for that time. No scars, no calluses, no sores on the body. Well, I understand that, the aesthetics of the frame are higher than authenticity, but the clothes, as if taken from animators. I don’t think that 20,000 years ago, leather pants and jackets were sewn so well.
Loved the views of nature. Really fascinating sight and the earth and water and the starry sky. Locations have been found in Canada, Iceland and even in California. It was possible to create a mix that could resemble the nature of the ice age in Europe. Rate in trailer
The film, of course, is not as touching as Hachiko, but I think many people will like it.
