Keeping in touch with the best school friends, and even more regularly meeting, over the years, it has become increasingly difficult, and more often it is simply impossible. But for five friends from Santa Barbara, California, friendship has always been a priority. Every five years they get together and recreate the same photo, which at one time determined their fraternity for life.
Back in 1982, the five spent their vacations at Lake Copco in Northern California, the guys were young and funny, they were only 19 years old. Then they decided to forever capture the very summer. Since then, the group began to meet on the same lake every year, and every five years to take a photo. All made a promise to find time and come by all means.
The guys joined their meetings into the Five Year Photo Project and recently, on June 24, they celebrated the eighth addition to the series of photos - 2017.
The five friends not only stayed true to their promises, but also tried to recreate the original photo as accurately as possible, right down to the clothes. From left to right: John Wardlaw, Mark Rumer, Dallas Burney, John Molony and John Dickson.
“In 1982 we made a rather strange photo. At that time, we had no idea that 30 years later we would copy it. ” John Moloney holds in his hand a can of cockroach. Alive.
“In 1987, we were there again and decided to reproduce the same photo.”
"In 1992, it was cloudy and cold, so all three of John were wearing T-shirts for the first time."
“In 1997, we slightly deviated from the original. In the future, we decided to recreate exactly. "
