Ilya Yashin refused to participate in the election of the mayor of Moscow
The head of the municipal district Krasnoselsky Ilya Yashin refused to participate in the election of the mayor of Moscow because of the municipal filter. According to the oppositionist, he managed to “enlist the support of 91 deputies - non-partisan, members of Yabloko, even representatives of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the SR”, but “failed to agree on signatures with deputies from United Russia”.
“All of them refer to a direct ban of the party bosses, which firmly decided not to let me through the filter. This decision was made at the mayor’s office, and I have to confirm: I don’t have the opportunity to become a candidate in this election,” wrote Yashin on Facebook.
He also expressed regret for the lack of a single candidate from the opposition in these elections, noting that "if someone from the candidates on our flank still can register, it will be right to support him in every way."
"Municipal filter - a mechanism contrary to the Constitution. He allows the authorities to choose their opponents, which obviously violates the rights of independent candidates and contradicts the interests of society. It is necessary to seek legislative abolition of this harmful for the country restrictions.
At the same time, I consider it a big mistake for the democratic opposition to refuse to hold primaries on the definition of a single candidate, which I have consistently insisted on since April. The absence of a single candidate gave the authorities the opportunity to choose who to let through the filter and who to block. This lesson the opposition must finally learn in order not to step on the same rake again. How to proceed? Despite the fact that I cannot become a registered candidate, a boycott of these elections does not seem to me a good idea.
The higher the result of Sobyanin, the more arrogant he will behave in our city. Therefore, we must go to the polls and vote against the representative of "United Russia". If any of the candidates on our flank can still register, it will be right to support him in every way.
I want to thank everyone who helped me in the campaign - the staff staff, volunteers, supporters.
I will continue to work in the municipality and will benefit voters. I will also make efforts to create a strong independent association of municipal deputies in Moscow, and a democratic faction will appear in the city’s parliament next year. "
