The city is more than 160 years old and it still has not lost its historical face. Many merchant buildings and houses of wealthy citizens survived on the main street.

In many cities I tried to buy local ice cream and beer. It was easier with the ice cream, the local one could often be bought, for example, Kemerovo Novokuznetsk, very tasty.
But with a beer .... almost everything is up to Vladivostok. It was either Moscow or the Baltika plant. This "Altai Khan" pleased with the taste and the fact that it was made not in the St. Petersburg plant but in Altai.
Mariinsk is on the transsib. Here you can make a half-day stop to take a leisurely stroll and explore the city.
