A viral runny nose occurs because the body tries to fight off the virus and rejects mucous cells and mucus. The mucus contains a significant amount of antiviral substances.
Treatment of a cold
To quickly get rid of the cold, you must activate the excretory function of the nasal mucosa. This can be done, for example, using onion juice.
Squeezing the juice from a grated onion through a gauze napkin, it is necessary to drip a few drops on cotton swabs and lay them in the nose.This will feel a strong burning sensation, but do not rush to remove the wool from the nostrils, be patient as you can. If this procedure is too heavy for you, you can put a tampon in only one nostril.
The next step in dealing with a runny nose is oil inhalation with eucalyptus oil. Boil water in a saucepan, add to it 3-5 drops of oil. Then lean over the saucepan, cover your head with a towel and breathe the steam for about ten minutes.
