Scientists reported that Crimea is physically moving to Russia

The Crimea Peninsula is physically moving towards the mainland of Russia, said the Director of the Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Ipatov. He stressed that this is not a joke, but the Institute’s experts conducted a serious study with the help of the Kvazar-KVO radio-thermometric telescope complex.
“At the time of the annexation of the Crimea to Russia, we tried to answer the question: where is the Crimea going? And we determined that it is moving towards Russia,” Ipatov told reporters on Tuesday.
According to him, despite the fact that this statement seems to be a joke, this is the result of serious research.
“In fact, this is not a joke, although it’s very similar. The Crimea is moving approximately to the northeast,” Ipatov said.
