Today is the Day of the Black Sea Fleet!
Once upon a time, in ancient times, there was one country of the USSR, and we all celebrated one Day of the Navy. In the post-Soviet period, each Russian fleet received its own holiday. In 1996, the order of the commander-in-chief of the Navy established the Day of the Black Sea Fleet. It is celebrated on the founding day of the fleet on May 13. Parade on the occasion of the holiday, I remember only in the anniversary years. So it was in 2008 for the 225th anniversary, and so it was in 2013 for the 230th anniversary. Both naval parades were remembered for unusual incidents. So in 2008, right during the parade, the frigate Pallas entered the Sevastopol Bay under full sail, and in 2013, at the very beginning of the performance, a thick fog came from the sea, so dense that it hid ships in the inner roads of Sevastopol.
Since there is no parade this year, I propose to recall how it was in 2013. Some photos in my journal are published for the first time. Let me remind you that the sailors of the Ukrainian Navy took part in the celebrations then.
